Collagen - Essential protein in our body
Collagen is present primarily in the skin, bone, cartilage and women's breast. Collagen functions to connect tissues tightly together, and to store water in our skin. Sufficient collagen in the body is essential to maintain the health of our skin, bone and organs.
Collagen can be likened to the cement between bricks
A wall of bricks without cement will be loose and would fall apart. Similarly, a body of cells without collagen will be loose, saggy and full of wrinkles.
What is Collagen?
Collagen is essential in our body. It makes up 50% of our cartilage, 70% of organic ingredient in our bone, 30% of the women's breast tissues. It is also the most important ingredient in our skin, as much as 80% in our dermis layer of skin.
Collagen is liken to an elastic layer of "glue" that holds the tissues together. Sufficient and strong collagen directly improves the health of our skin.
Besides, collagen also functions as the water storage in our skin. It stores water and thus maintains the moist of our skin. Dry and old skin often originate from the loss of collagen in our skin.
So, in order to have a perfect skin, we must increase the collagen level in our skin, along with the good quality of collagen we take to our body.
